As a Lessee…
… your voice is important
It is also important that you are aware of the rules and regulations associated with Grade One listed buildings such as The Paragon, so do please have a quick scan of each of the sections here - especially the Alterations section if you are planning to make any changes to the interior of your flat.
Listing-related rules have been designed to ensure the preservation of the fabric and appearance of the buildings, inside and out. They stipulate, for example, that nothing can be attached to the exterior of the buildings or railings (such as estate agents’ boards or, when they were relevant, satellite dishes).
There are also rules designed to make life pleasant for all of us and to prevent problems arising in a situation where 75-odd flats are separated by often rather thin old walls and floors and we share a communal garden. You can read up on these in the Rules & Regulations section - and if you are renting out your flat it would be useful if you could let your tenants be aware of them.
If you would like to get in touch with the Paragon resident volunteers - unpaid and always looking for new members! - who form the Paragon Management Company (PMC), or would like to raise any issues or problems, please email: Paragon.agm.se3@gmail.com.
Messages to The Paragon’s Managing Agent* should be emailed to contact@reml.co.uk, Redwood Estate Management Ltd, who will then act - swiftly, we hope - to resolve the matter and will also consider any ideas and suggestions you may have.
NB Please check the Bookable Services page for recommended painters and plumbers and please let us know if there are any tradespeople you could recommend
*The Paragon’s managing agent is Redwood Estates Management Ltd (contact@reml.co.uk).
The Paragon’s buildings insurance policy for 2023 is with Allianz. Please note that since one leaseholder went away for the weekend, leaving - unbelievably - a plumber to lock up, one Friday afternoon a few years ago, which resulted in a tap being left on and ceilings coming down, there is a £2,500 deductible regarding water damage…
Events: the 2023 AGM was at 7.30pm, 19.09.23, at St Michael’s, Pond Road, Cator Estate, SE3. See the minutes of this, much of it devoted to the redecoration of the exterior, on the Downloads page
